6L90E shuddering when converter locked and under load

 · In 3rd or 4th gear under a load like when going up a decent hill, I can feel some shuddering or slipping of the torque converter. Is there something that can be adjusted to try to tune out the shudder or slipping or whatever might be going on? I see the ramp in D and some TCC slip tables that I feel might be able to help some of this, but I'm not sure where I should start.

Diagnosing Symptoms of a Bad Manual Transmission

 · Manual transmission problems can develop due to high mileage, abuse, or lack of proper maintenance. But they are rather rare. Most manual transmission issues originate not with the transmission itself, but from related components like the clutch assembly, linkage, or driveline: the components that transmit turning power from the transmission to the wheels.

Causes of a Slipping Transmission

The automatic transmission fluid provides the fluid force to shift the gears; the transmission bands anchor each gear set together and allow the shifting gears to work in unison. Worn or damaged transmission bands can allow slack to develop around the transmission gears, a condition that can cause the transmission gears to slip out of place.
